My page process for Teahouse
1 - This is basically just a rough sketch/layout. I’m reusing a bg in panel 1 from Chapter 2, because I’m a hack with no shame. No but really if you can get away with it and make it look like you didn’t copy paste it you should do it. It’s super efficient.
2 - As you can see, stuff in the layout switched from the thumb. NGL I mostly did it so I could show off the shaved side of Gilder’s head. His pretty side <3 Do more detailed sketches and rearrange panels here if I need to.
3 - And then I ink it! This is where I go cray cray with details. I forgot to draw Gilder’s sword in panels 2-4 so CC had to copy paste it in from an older page. I’m a champ!
And here’s a WIP from a champ. Now you have a post-by-post comparison of what a pro’s work looks like, and what my fledgling doodles look like. LOOK AT THAT STRUCTURE. Oh my god, I need to sleep.
