Jeff and Justin in my sketchbook.
I’m challenging myself by drawing with office supplies - just Bic black and red pens. Obviously, no erasing. The results are super fun.
For the occasional goofball who thinks I only do gimmicky drawings of pretty hair and can’t really draw like a ‘serious artist.’

Brushing up on my observational drawing and portrait skills. My graphite lines are much more sculptural than they used to be, and I am confident enough with each stroke of my pencil that I don’t do the smudge-blending thing anymore. I love illustration, but carving and etching an image and watching it rise out of a piece of paper is every bit as compelling as laying the groundwork and inking the lines of my illustrations. Drawing, drawing, drawing - I’ll always be a sucker for plain old drawing.

I also totally didn’t finish drawing the rest of the Sailor Scouts. Gonna get back on that… (Taken with instagram)
My totally awesome City Arts instructors and classmates. There are still a couple more faces I need to capture, but here they are.
And for those of you who have heard about my embarrassingly inappropriate crush, ‘Samwise’ is in here a couple times. Hahaha…

I did a couple portraits of my friend Ritwik a while back. I was supposed to post them then, too, but now will have to do I guess. I’M SO SORRY!
The second one, the one on the right, turned out waaaayyyy better.
